The fried seafood platter was huge, so we shared it. Everything tasted fresh, with a nice batter, and the coconut mojito is a must. You can really tell they make it all with love. This is a review of the restaurant.

Right on the beach, with tasty food you can enjoy while relaxing by the water. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. An amazing hostel, and the best place to stay in montanita.

We paid $15 for a private room for two, which felt very reasonable. The hostel is clean, nice, and right on the beach, and the staff are super nice. The restaurant is a bit expensive, and the shower is pretty rustic, but it was still a great place to stay.

The shared kitchen and ping pong were great, and the WiFi was strong. The facilities were well cleaned and the staff friendly, though the menu is limited and some room and shared bathroom door locks don’t work.

We got our own private room with a hammock, right on the beach, and the WiFi was solid. It’s a good-value beach shack with a laid-back feel, great for couples, and happy hour prices are available all day, every day. We only meant to spend two days in Montañita, but stayed ten. We’d looked through the hotels and hostels in this particular area to get away from town noise, and I’m glad we found Guacamayo. Laura makes delicious maracuya and limon daquiris, and Matteo gave us amazing service.
