It’s an easy stroll to restaurants, bars and markets, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms open onto a covered inner courtyard, so there are no outside windows and they feel a bit dark. We used both beds since the double beds are rather small. The bathroom is fairly large, with hot water and a high-pressure shower.

Breakfast was a nice surprise: fresh fruit, juice, eggs, and a basket of rolls and croissants. It’s simple food, but delicious, and the service was attentive and great. The rooms are very clean, and the hotel is right on a main street. Parking and breakfast are included, and they provide earplugs in case the noise bothers you. It didn’t bother us.

The owner, Hector, took great care of me and my group. He’s an amazing guy, and his wife is the sweetest. The staff are excellent too. It’s a very comfortable hotel.

We called and were quoted a price, but when we arrived just 15 minutes later they tried to charge us $80 more. We were tired and nearly paid, then they said breakfast wasn’t included either. Breakfast can’t cost more than a couple of dollars. This felt like abuse, a typical tourist trap, and price gouging.

Right in the center of fabulous Otovalo, Ecuador, this family-owned hotel is fantastic. Free Wi-Fi, breakfast and parking. Highly recommended.
