Hostal El Obraje

The room was spacious, with large windows, enough light, a big TV with some English channels, and a small fridge. It had two beds with very soft mattresses, two bedside tables with drawers, a small table and two chairs, and a comfortable loveseat. There wasn't anywhere to hang clothes or store big bags, and a few more electrical outlets would help. The shower looked lovely, but the hot water lasted just a minute before turning icy cold. After switching it off for a few minutes, it heated back up for another minute. Rinse, repeat, shiver! The new facility was clean, and the host was very helpful and spoke basic English. They let us check out very late without any fuss. Breakfast was decent and included, though there was no free drinking water. There are minimarts, a pharmacy, and a couple of restaurants nearby. The airport is about a 20-minute drive. Puemdo has almost no sidewalks or parks, and not much to offer. Papallacta thermal baths is a 45-minute taxi ride that costs $30.

The room was quiet, comfortable, and just like the photos. Jennifer and her husband, Benjamin, were very friendly, and they made a lovely breakfast.

A really pleasant welcome, an immaculate room, and a clean, well-equipped bathroom. Excellent guesthouse, nothing to complain about.
