The accommodation itself had excellent rooms and service, and the staff rescued our day after a travel agent they recommended let us down. We’d booked a day tour with Stalin, whose shop is at the corner of Charles Binford and Av. Baltra. I don’t remember the agency’s exact name. He never showed up at the meeting point and ignored several WhatsApp messages. Even when the hostal called, he didn’t answer, and I nearly missed the tour. The staff managed to get us to the right group just in time, so we could still enjoy the day.

The owner was very attentive and went out of his way to help us recover luggage lost at the airport, an hour’s drive from the hotel. It’s a great place for a family stay, with air conditioning in every room. Playa de las Tortugas is within walking distance, and Las Grietas is a short distance away.

My street-facing room had bathroom windows that were just open screens, so I couldn’t close them. The family had some kind of fiesta with loud music until 10:30pm, then kept talking and laughing loudly. I called at 11pm and asked them to keep it down because I had to be up at 5am. They weren’t apologetic, and it felt like a real lack of respect or awareness for a paying guest. After that, someone downstairs, maybe the owner, coughed all night until 5am. I got literally zero sleep. Terrible stay, I don’t recommend it.

The sheets looked like they might be 20 years old, and the whole place felt worn out. I know the hostel is cheap and basic, but they could at least make an effort. Calling this hotel a luxury place has to be a joke 😂

Raphael and his wife seemed really lovely, and the hostel is in a great spot. The sheets were a bit small for the bed, but the showers were hot.
