Hotel Flamingo

The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and they let us check in early without any trouble. Breakfast was made to order in the morning. Staying here felt like being at your auntie’s house, in the best way. Such a wholesome experience, and we’d absolutely come back.

The coffee and drinking water on every floor were a nice touch, and the Wi-Fi was better than at the other places we stayed on the island. Flamingo also had tasty breakfast, good A/C, and a really helpful, friendly front desk. It’s in a great location and was a very good price. Across the street, the market’s empanadas are delicious, $2 with great salsa. I recommend staying here.

Apart from the noise, it was a good hotel. Some south-facing rooms are right by a nightclub that plays music until at least 4am, and the bass makes the bed tremble. It’s very hard to sleep there.

There are choices for different budgets. The roadside rooms are clean and modern, with plenty of space, big windows, and large flat-screen TVs with cable. Backpackers can get a much cheaper room in another block across the patio. Those rooms are still very good, with either a fan or A/C depending on what you want to spend. Free coffee and hot water are a nice extra.
