Gundi met us at the main dock, brought us to the house, and explained how everything worked, with advice on things to do around the island. This part of Puerto Ayora has no cars, so it's peaceful, and we had good facilities. The rooms and home are cleaned every day. A great, quiet base for exploring the Galapagos. Don't hesitate to stay here.

Stef met us at the ferry dock and took us to Jean's house by water taxi. The ride was 5 minutes and cost only a dollar each way, well worth it for the quiet away from town. Gundi showed us around and shared the unusual history of the property: Jean, a woman from NY, built the house by hand in the early 70s as the first tourist to the Galapagos. We stayed in the smaller back cottage, which had plenty of room, a giant bed, a kitchen, and a nice-sized bathroom. Stef, Gundi, and the rest of the family made our stay so pleasant. We couldn't have asked for a better place in Santa Cruz.

I've stayed at Jean's Home for two months in 2023 and another two months in 2022. Every day felt like a gift. It's a quiet, lovely place that is still near everything, and I can't think of a more pleasant place to stay on Santa Crus in the Galapagos. There are several houses as part of Jeans Home, and some of the photos are from my breakfast table. Gundi, the host, is the most caring and friendly person I've met. She makes sure guests have a good time and is wonderful to chat with. She was born in the Galapagos, has followed the island's development, and knows so much about what has happened there. I strongly recommend staying here. Thank you, Gundi. Love, Agneta Andren.

I spent two full months at Jean's Home with Gundi as host, and I'm incredibly grateful I got to know her, her family, and the house. The smaller of the two houses was beautiful, with lots of windows, privacy, a cozy little kitchen, a good shower, and a good bed in the larger living room. It was cleaned so thoroughly every time, and everything from the water and bed linen to the toiletries was top quality. The place was close to the beach, nature, restaurants, and nightlife if you wanted it. Gundi cared for me when I had a stomach illness; she was always kind and happy, and we became best friends. Her family were just as lovely and caring. Their love is unforgettable. Gundi is insightful, deeply caring, and incredibly competent in so many areas. She knew about animals, nature, and human psychology, which helped her care for all kinds of people so well. Staying here for those two months felt like recovery and wellness in every way. I can't recommend this amazing place enough. I just love everything. Thank you.

Thank you, Gundy, for having us. The house was spotless and kept that way each day by Gundy and her helper. It was clean, comfortable, quiet, large, and airy, with lovely plants, especially around Christmas. There were umbrellas and lounge chairs for the beach and porch. The beach is 4 minutes away and only gets busy on weekends. The location was excellent, 3 minutes from Puerto Ayora, but still peaceful. My favorite thing was having coffee on the porch in the wee hours while the world was asleep, with lots of birds and lizards for the kids to see.
