Hostal Cann's House

Nelly, the owner, was really friendly and made a fresh, tasty breakfast. The room was small but very clean. The showerhead had low water pressure, and the water only got warm for us, never hot. We had a good stay at cann's house.

Miss Nelly recommended some good agencies for tours, and her son Christian works at the property too. We stayed six nights, and I wish I could give Cann’s House 10 stars. Miss Nelly is the sweetest person, and being around her each day felt life changing, even though I don't speak Spanish. I even wished she were my mom. The rooms were comfortable and incredibly clean, with air conditioning, and everything we needed was a short walk away. We also became friends with other guests. I'm writing this on June 29, 2024. If you come around this time, Miss Nelly may be away in Quito for family matters. The other staff were welcoming and helpful, and tried hard to maintain her high standards. I hope I can return!

The property is behind a gate and feels private and tucked away, in a quiet neighborhood. Playa Mann, the Malecón center area and the ferry terminal are about five minutes away. The rooms are modern and spotless, and the strong air conditioning made it easy to rest after a day out. Nelle picked us up at the ferry terminal and checked us in right away, even though it was only 9am. She shared ideas for our three days and arranged reservations for the 360 Island Tour and Highlands Tour, both of which were wonderful. Her sister Marbella cooked breakfast each day and asked us beforehand what we liked. It was simple home cooking and really yummy. Knowing Spanish helps with both women, but translation tools should make the stay manageable for non-Spanish speakers too. We felt right at home at Cann’s, like we were staying with family or a close friend in a lovely mansion in San Cristobal.

The location was just right, and our rooms were fresh and clean, with a bed as comfortable as my own. Coffee and breakfast were delicious and clearly prepared with care. Nellie was a delight and very helpful. She also helped us arrange a spectacular trip where we saw several hammerhead sharks. I'd absolutely recommend Cann's.
