Hotel Mar Azul Galapagos

The room was a decent size, and the manager was friendly and sorted a takeaway breakfast for our 6am 360 tour. Breakfast was included, if a bit basic, and you could borrow a snorkel and mask for free. The location was decent too. The shared area with the pool table was fine, but the cue ball was missing. Rooms and bathrooms feel dated, and the doors slam loudly, especially when kids are up early. Some sort of door stopper or silencer would help. It felt expensive for what you get, though I know everything costs more in Galápagos.

The rooms are nice, and there's an open-air room with a billiards table. Breakfast costs extra, but there's plenty of space to sit and relax. Rates are good, the service is friendly, and the location works well. The twin bed took a little getting used to, but you're in Galapagos to explore, not to spend all your time focused on hotel comfort.

I really liked staying here. The price was reasonable and the staff were friendly, with advice for planning your own tours. There's a smart TV that lets you mirror your phone, and they provide beach towels each day if you ask. The new air conditioner and extra fan cooled the room quickly. No smell from the shower curtain and no ants or bugs.

The staff made us feel right at home, and our room had everything we needed. My brother and I spent three nights at Hotel Mar Azul, and the price was hard to beat. I'd definitely choose it again if I return to San Cristóbal Island.
