Cartago Bay

The accommodation was super clean, and breakfast was available. It's a lovely, peaceful spot near the harbour and Concha Perla, an amazing snorkeling point. Señora Gulnara was very kind and helpful. Her husband used to work as a guide and scientist, so he knows the Galápagos well and can suggest where to go and what to see. Highly recommended!

At first we were a little unsure when we arrived. It looked like a small, old house beside an unpaved road. The hosts met us outside, which was nice, and the space behind the house turned out to be lovely: an open courtyard with trees and a cabana with hammocks. Our room was spotless and spacious, with high ceilings, air conditioning, a ceiling fan, a private bathroom, and a mini fridge. Ask for Prof Gulnara's place, because apparently in the Galapagos it's all about who you know. She was phenomenal, served us tea after our trip there, and made breakfast every morning. They have a connection with a taxi driver, which made getting around easy, though we barely needed him since she lives within a five-minute walk of town. A highly recommended, quiet retreat.

We loved the clean, roomy, relaxing space. Gulnara and Celso were wonderful hosts, too. It's outside the center, so it's quiet, and sits about halfway between the ferry and town, with an easy walk to either.
