The rooftop breakfast area is a lovely place to sit, with its exotic wood decking and trim. There’s fresh fruit, juice, different meats, and eggs made to order. The coffee wasn’t quite like what we had in Quito, but there are other options nearby. Cervesas and food are easy to find on either side of the hotel, or in the lobby. The hotel sits right on the beach, with snorkeling only a few hundred feet away. Our room had a great view and a nice shower, though it was a little smaller than we’re used to. The desk staff spoke good English and were always friendly and helpful, and housekeeping did a great job each day. You can walk to just about everything, with a cab really only needed for the ferry terminal or tortoise breeding center. We also had fun watching the lava lizards wander back and forth.

Breakfast was a treat, especially the made-to-order eggs and smoothies with no added sugar. The staff were so friendly, too. The hotel is right on a beautiful stretch of beach, with lovely sand and water. Panchito, the sea lion, naps on a beach chair there.

The rooms were comfortable, with lovely ocean views, especially at sunset. We also enjoyed spotting pelicans and iguanas nearby. The hotel is right on the long beach, with bars and restaurants close by, and the staff were always keen to help and offer recommendations. For us, it’s the best choice on Isabela.

Panchito, the resident sea lion, was a highlight, coming by every day to hang out on a lounge chair. The beach is just steps away, with calm white sand and tide pools where iguanas feed on algae. We loved the ocean view from our room at Cormorant Beach House. Javi and Magali made a delicious breakfast each morning, with big smiles and good conversation. At the front desk, Nathali and Estalin helped us understand activities, book taxis, and find great restaurants. After our snorkeling trip to Los Tuneles, I left my wetsuit on the shuttle. Estalin went out of his way to help me get it back. Gracias, Estalin! You saved the day. We’re already looking forward to returning to Cormorant Beach House on our next visit to the island.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location made it easy to unwind. Our clean, comfortable room was a good size, but the large terrace and its sweeping ocean view were the real treat. Waking up to the waves was lovely.
