Hostal Villamil

The hostal is in a good spot, just a quick walk from the beach and Main Street. The rooms are a decent size, very clean, with comfortable beds and block-out curtains. Manager Enrique Gil Ochoa was helpful and attentive. If you can get a decent price, it's a great little place to stay. The shower had no hot water, and the family who worked there were fairly loud from about 7:30am onward, which is fine if you're not keen on sleeping in. The older gentleman who works there was very insistent about turning the air conditioning off whenever we left. That's good for the environment and their power budget, but the rooms heat up quickly. From memory, keeping the AC on at an average temperature is a little more economical anyway.

The room was spacious and clean, with A/C, and they did my laundry for free. It’s close to the beach, too. This is the best place in town, and I’d be hard pressed to find a better deal. If six stars were possible, I’d give them seven.

The people here are really nice, and the rooms have everything you need. The location is great for getting around, with the beach, supermarkets, a bakery, pharmacy, and restaurants all nearby. Highly recommended.

The owners are nice older people, and the place is clean and cheap, with enough furniture and Wi-Fi. I just need a bed and a shower, so it was perfect for me. If you’re after a five-star hotel, stay at home.
