Adamas House Hotel

The rooftop was great, and they let guests bring their own drinks and will open wine bottles for you up there. Baroneka during the day and Robert at night were amazing. I stayed four nights at this beautiful boutique hotel, an easy walk from Plaza Grande. Breakfast was lovely, but slow, and Baroneka makes something special each morning. Leave at least 30-45 minutes for it. The stairs in my room were slippery and felt dangerous. Since the bathroom was downstairs, I had to go up and down each time, trying not to fall at night. Most of the other rooms didn't have this split-level layout.

The bedroom is upstairs and the bathroom is on the first floor in this two-level room, which is itself on the second floor. At 9,000 feet, climbing those stairs while short of breath was miserable. This is the worst room layout I've ever seen. They shouldn't sell this kind of room to travelers who aren't used to the altitude.

The location made it easy to explore the old town, and I felt safe walking back in the evening. I really enjoyed my few nights here in Quito, either side of my Galapogas trip. The breakfasts were lovely and generous, the rooms spotless, and the beds very comfortable. I also liked relaxing in the courtyard lounge, and the roof terrace has great city views. Highly recommend staying here.

The Adamas was a lovely stay, with friendly, accommodating staff and a really tasty breakfast. It's very close to the square and tourist activities.
