You’re close to good restaurants and nightlife, but far enough away to get a quiet night’s sleep. The place is reasonably priced, and the owner is the real highlight: a helpful, friendly guide who speaks excellent English. Highly recommend.

Roberto Cedeño was the best part of our stay. His English is excellent, and his humor and knowledge made him great company. He drove us around the Andean slopes for just over a week to visit wonderful lodges and look for Ecuador’s birdlife. He delivered in spades as a guide. The accommodation is centrally located in Quito, with great restaurants less than a 10-minute walk away. Our room was clean and comfortable, and drinking water was available both in complimentary bottles and for refills in the dining room. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh fruit, yoghurt, granola, toast, eggs, coffee, juice, and more. I’d definitely recommend staying here and asking Roberto to guide you, for birds or other outings.

Roberto’s eight-day birding tour was top class, with different habitats on both sides of the Andes. He’s a superb birder, passionate about Ecuador, and flexible and attentive to what you need. We also got a lot out of the history, culture, food, and other enrichment along the way. The Bird Garden Guest House made a spotless, well-located base for meals and sightseeing before the tour, and the accommodation suited us perfectly. I highly recommend Roberto.
