Hostal La Casa Toleña - Hostel

We stayed nearly a week, and the staff were helpful with all the information we needed. The rooftop is a lovely place to work or relax while looking out over Quito, and the WiFi worked well for remote work. There's a basic kitchen, and the hostel is well located in Quito.

The family who owns la casa tolena were incredibly helpful. They explained the bus schedule and kept our backpacks while we were away in the Amazonas. The rooms are spacious, there's drinkable water, good WiFi, and a nice kitchen. The terrace is excellent for working remotely, especially for digital nomads. Lunch is good, the same sort of food you'd find at a corientazo elsewhere. The rooms feel old and somewhat unclean because the paint, bathroom, and curtains need updating, and the kitchen does too. The cleaning team does a good job, though. It's more the facilities themselves that need work.

We arrived too early, and since our assigned room hadn't been cleaned, they gave us another one. The staff were very nice, and the room had an incredible pure 90s style. There's a nice view from upstairs while you have a light breakfast.

The showers were great. We stayed almost a week while our motorcycles were being repaired. Laundry service was available.
