An old-fashioned, pretty unusual place. The room was huge but not very practical, and there was no desk or table. The bed was very large and comfortable. There was a working jacuzzi in the room, though it filled really slowly, and also a sauna I didn't try. Hot water was fine, but breakfast was pretty poor. Good value if you're not picky.
The staff were great and really helpful. The rooms are large, though they felt too cold and not especially cozy.
It was kind of dirty, so I wasn't too impressed.
The view is really nice, and the place feels safe. It’s spacious and comfortable, with parking, and the service was very good. The gentleman was friendly, attentive, and helped with my suitcase. Still, the house smell and the age of everything were unsettling, and some walls had damp spots. The old locks were confusing, the bathroom lock was damaged, and there was no water heater, so a morning shower was pretty unpleasant. I think it could use some modernization.
We didn’t feel safe, and we left soon after arriving without spending the night. The room with the view and balcony we’d booked had already been taken, so they offered us a different suite for the same price, without a balcony and down in the basement. Everything looked old, the towels were horrible, and the damp smell was so strong with the windows and doors shut that it became unbearable. The good reviews may be from people who happened to get an upper-floor room with a balcony and weren’t misled like we were.
