The cafeteria service was a highlight: warm, attentive, efficient, and quick with the details. Breakfast was enjoyable in a pleasant setting, and it made for a relaxing start to the day. I’d happily come back for another one. I stopped by Hotel Boutique Circasiana Palace in Quito recently just for breakfast, and it was a lovely discovery. The beautifully restored early-20th-century mansion offers a glimpse of the city’s heritage without having to stay overnight. A lot of care has gone into keeping its historic character while making the inside feel fresh and inviting, with classic details and a warm boutique atmosphere. It’s right on Avenida 10 de Agosto near Alonso de Mercadillo, on a busy main road among ordinary houses and everyday shops that aren’t especially scenic. From outside it blends into the urban setting, but once you step in, the contrast is striking. The noise and bustle of Quito give way to calm, refined spaces. I found it surprisingly peaceful on such a busy, noisy avenue, a hidden retreat in the middle of the city. Even if you’re not staying the night, it’s well worth visiting for breakfast. The restoration, the contrast with the surroundings, and the good cafeteria service make it a memorable escape and a peaceful, elegant place to start the morning.
