The TV in the bedroom worked really well, with both Netflix and Amazon Prime, which I hadn't come across in an Airbnb before. Check-in was also very easy: they sent clear pictures, videos, and instructions. There are several good, inexpensive restaurants and small shops nearby, and both Park La Carolina and Mall El Jardin are within walking distance. The shower was a little tricky to operate, but the water temperature was mostly very nice. Room 402 was on the third floor, with no lift, so carrying lots of bags could be an issue. Quito is hilly, and the building is on a hill too. Keep the uphill walking and the altitude, with its thinner air, in mind. There were some real drawbacks in the room. There was nowhere to store clothes, and the bedroom got very bright even with the curtains closed, with the sun shining right at the bed. The only bedroom outlet was under the TV and already occupied, so there were none by the desk or bed. The bathroom was tiny, with a step inside and very little space between the toilet and the wall opposite. The soap and shampoo dispensers were outside the shower, so using them meant splashing water around. Because of that bathroom setup, I wouldn't recommend the apartment to anyone with mobility issues. I gave it four stars because I think the positives outweighed the negatives. Just wanted to be honest. Thanks for having us.

The stay was lovely overall, with warm hospitality, good value, and a location close to lots of things. But a few days after I left my Airbnb review, they asked for $50: $10 for a towel with makeup on it and $40 because they said the room smelled of cigarettes. Nobody smoked in the room while I was there. There had been a smoker before us, though, and three cigarette butts were left in a box in the room's trash can, which might have caused the smell. I spoke respectfully with Cynthia and ended up paying only the extra $10 for the towel. Just sharing this in case you're traveling with someone who smokes or wears makeup.

Cozy, tidy, and clean, but I didn't realize the apartment was shared with other guests. You're renting rooms here, not the whole place, so be aware before booking 🙃

There was plenty to explore nearby, including parks and shopping centers, and that variety made my stay even better. The place itself was peaceful, too. I had a really pleasant time and would highly recommend it!
