My mom and I went for a Fiesta Floral Therapy, and we had such a relaxing, beautifully done experience. The staff welcomed us right away and looked after us so well. We'll definitely return.

The garden is lovely, and the little restaurant attached to it was superb. We also had amazing service on Xmas Eve. The staff were careful and detail-oriented with room service, with a fun little touch. At check-in, there were free drinks and dessert, and our room had great furniture and a city view. The hotel is fairly close to old town and Crystal Palace. It's one of the best places I've stayed, and I travel a lot. The historic building has great decor, luxurious and European in style. Staff are incredibly friendly and ready to help with anything. Amazing stay, highly recommend!!!

Reposting a review from my 2018 trip. The lovely little birds in their cage made breakfast feel special for me. The buffet itself was basic but enough, with a good range of breads and cereals, and eggs made to order. The hotel has chocolate touches everywhere: a chocolate scent when you walk in, chocolate soap, and a piece on your bed. I loved it, though if that's not your thing, maybe Hotel Plaza Grande is a better fit. The upstairs library was a favorite spot for afternoon tea and little cookies with a book. There's also a gorgeous garden behind the hotel, great for reading or relaxing, and the lobby is beautiful. It had the feel of staying in a rich friend's mansion, quaint and adorable rather than like a chain. Cleanliness was a given. Even Princesa, their white dog, was so clean my hand didn't smell after I petted her. She has a fabulous personality. For the price, this was easily one of my favorite hotels of the year. I'd probably spent 150 nights in hotels worldwide that year. Quito has few good, reasonably priced options: a few around $450, then a steep drop unless you stay far from everything. People often suggest Mariscal, which might suit a 20-something or a backpacker who wants to spend all night at a dirty bar. For someone older who wants comfort, I could see only about two worthwhile choices in sensible areas with a 4+ star level that won't cost $500+ after tax: this place and Hotel Grand Plaza. You can sometimes get a good deal at either. I picked this one after lunch and seeing a room at Hotel Grand Plaza. Both are very nice, but this hotel felt even more boutique in its shared spaces. For a romantic trip, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here. It was so charming. I was traveling alone and loved it too. I was writing during my stay and could happily have spent all day doing that in the garden, dining area, or library. So great.

A tour company picked this hotel for us, so we can't take credit for finding it. Still, I agree with the other reviewers: the rooms were gorgeous, always with beautiful bouquets of roses, and the food was good, with generous breakfasts. Above all, the staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful.

We've stayed at the Mansion del Angel for our Galapagos tours since 2005. It's a small boutique place with plenty of attention to detail, owned and run by a distinguished gentleman who trained at Swiss hotelier schools.
