Mercure Alameda Quito

We came as a group, and check-in was easy. My room was spacious and clean. I also tried the laundry service. It costs quite a bit, but they did a perfect job. The food was terrific, both breakfast and dinner, and service throughout the hotel was great. I really enjoyed my stay.

The restaurant food at both places was solid, well above what I'd expect at a hotel. The rooms were comfortable, the property very clean and nicely equipped, and the spa was lovely. Front desk staff were courteous, respectful, and thoroughly professional. The restaurant floor staff were the one big snag. They weren't rude, just astonishingly unaware of diners, even when working at the next table. It felt like you'd have to set your hair on fire and stand on a chair before anyone noticed. A huge fly in an otherwise delightful stay.

The Spice Restaurant downstairs was a great option, whether for fine dining, a buffet dinner, or a late snack. The hotel is centrally located in Quito, with plenty of nearby amenities and attractions, and the price was reasonable. I'd gladly consider returning. Staff were kind, attentive, and helpful throughout. Breakfast starts at 4 a.m.; from 7, a chef makes fresh omelets. There was a wide choice of fresh local fruit and pastries each morning. The top floor has a well-equipped gym, small pool, hot tub, cold plunge, steam room, and sauna by the spa. The room was comfortable, though I would've appreciated some heating on Quito's cold evenings. The bathroom towels seemed worn and didn't absorb well, so I needed several and had to replace them often after showering.

I’ve stayed at Mercure Alameda Quito twice and would recommend it highly. The gym, spa, lap pool, sauna, steam room, and cold plunge pool are fantastic. The shower and changing rooms are great too, with towels and lockers provided. There’s a French patisserie, cafeteria, and Spicy restaurant on site. Everyone I dealt with gave excellent service. I'll miss the iced lattes and bakery treats. 11 out of 10 👍👍
