Reina Isabel Hotel & Suites

The breakfast buffet had plenty to choose from, and we were happy with the hotel. We picked it based on good recommendations and weren’t disappointed. Since we stayed over a week, they upgraded us to a 55 m² superior room with a safe, lots of furniture, a fridge, and a jacuzzi.

The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable, with a clean bathroom and separate sinks for him and her. It also had a dining table, mini fridge, coffee maker, instant coffee, tea, and water. Staff were friendly and spoke good English. Check-in was easy, and we got a suite upgrade because we stayed six nights. Breakfast started out well, with fresh orange juice and plenty of fruit, but the food and fruit selection stayed the same, so we got tired of it after a few days. The location was okay, though the metro is about a 20-minute walk away. The area felt too quiet at night, with all the shops closed, and it took us a while to find nearby dinner options online. Housekeeping didn’t come on Saturday or Sunday, and I’m not sure if that’s normal in Quito. Still, it’s a great hotel and I’d recommend it.

The location and neighborhood aren’t ideal, but getting to other parts of town is cheap by transport, so I’d stay here again. It’s good value as a hotel, with a decent breakfast that isn’t fancy, and a good gym.

We enjoyed staying here. The service was great, the hotel was clean and nice, and breakfast was amazing. Room service came daily. There’s a gym and sauna, though we didn’t try either. We’d hoped to spend time around Plaza La Foch, but found it overpriced and overrated. The hotel is about 1.5 miles from the old Historical center.
