Getting to the airport takes around 35-45 minutes by car, and we found Uber easy and reliable for getting around. The hotel's on a quiet side street. We had no safety problems, though some people might feel better taking an Uber at night instead of walking. It's in La Mariscal, near cafés, restaurants, and Parque El Ejido. We'd happily recommend Hotel Rincón Escandinavo to anyone after a calm, secure, comfortable stay in Quito. After a disappointing visit to Casa Andino across the street, moving here made an immediate difference. Our room was large and sunny, the staff were friendly, and the hotel felt well run and secure throughout.

The neighborhood is beautiful and feels safe for a walk, and breakfast was a perfect start to the day. Our room was lovely and sweet, with hot water and good WiFi. The staff were lovely too. What a beautiful hotel, I'd definitely come back!

For a small budget hotel, it was a nice place overall. It's conveniently near public transport and the tourist square, and the staff were friendly, though only a few of them spoke English. Breakfast varied from day to day, but there was enough.
