We arrived late at Quito airport and needed a hotel just for the night before leaving the next morning. The staff were kind and available at all times, and the rooms were clean, quaint, and full of character. There were lovely sitting areas and a restaurant on site. We had the salmon and caprese salad, and both were excellent. We also got Uber Eats for a late dinner one night, and took an Uber from the airport for $15.

The lodge itself is beautiful, clean, and has a very nice atmosphere, but the service left me very disappointed. Erick was rude from the start and asked me for money in advance while I was making the reservation. He also didn't explain that payment had to be in cash at the front desk, which is usually handled at checkout. The service was poor. I feel the workers may not be paid well, and that could be part of why service suffers. Erick shouldn't be working there, in my view, because he lacks social skills and isn't polite with customers. He was the worst worker. Anyone deciding to stay should do so at their own risk. Perhaps we'll never book here again.

The gardens make for a beautiful setting, and the property also has a pool and a few really nice restaurants. The hotel is comfortable, with a relaxing but luxurious feel. The staff are amazing and go above and beyond for everyone. This is the best place to stay, and I'd happily return.

When I recently arrived in Ecuador, I stayed at Rukka Lodge and had an amazing time. The gardens and pool area were fantastic, and my room was very comfortable. The food was good, and the staff and managers were great. I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

As an international traveler, I expected the hotel administration to show integrity and empathy when unexpected circumstances came up. Sadly, Rukka didn't meet either expectation.
