Playa Canela Hotel Boutique

The masseuse was one of the best I've ever had, and the breakfast was great. We were a group of five, and though the room could use an update, the lovely, secluded grounds made up for it. It's a small boutique hotel with a tiny beach entrance, and you have to wait for the tide to go out before you can swim. The animals on the grounds were lovely. Getting there is a little strange, with what looks like a ghost town until you reach the hotel's doorway. A nice place to get away from it all.

Juan, Cecilia, and Carlos made us feel at home and gave us excellent hospitality. We were the only guests during our stay, which was great, though we went at the end of June and Salinas might have been in its slow season. Of all the places my husband and I stayed in Ecuador, this was easily the most comfortable, best, and most memorable. The beach starts right outside the front door and stretches along quietly, making it lovely for a walk at low tide. The water was also so pleasant to swim in. There was plenty of tasty breakfast made in-house, and lots of local restaurants nearby. If you're going to Salinas, stay here for a couple of nights!

The rooms are really comfortable, and there are lovely private spaces for massages or relaxing with friends and family. You can head straight to the beach outside the hotel, or hang out by the pool or jacuzzi. Beautiful place!

The views are stunning, right on the beach, and the rooms were clean and very comfortable. We were there in low season and had the hotel to ourselves, so the personal service was excellent. When my wife fell ill, the staff went out of their way to care for her. They also arranged takeout delivery for us. Breakfast was good, and the gardens and pool were beautiful.
