Tihuse Horsefarm B&B

We camped in our own tent for two nights at this lovely, peaceful spot. It was €6 per person per night, with the shower and toilet included, though there was no kitchen. I also went riding. My one-hour ride cost €45 and was arranged just for me in the forest with the instructor, while the others went on a more active ride with a different instructor. It was thoughtfully planned, and the instructor gave me useful riding tips. The horses were gentle and well trained. The kitchen arrangements were confusing, which is why I didn't give five stars. The reception had closed by the time we arrived, but staff were still at the restaurant. They explained where we could stay and showed us the shared facilities, including the kitchen, toilet, and bathroom. Only after our two nights were we told the kitchen wasn't meant to be used and would cost an extra €20 a day. I explained what we'd been told when we arrived, and we sorted it out, so the charge wasn't added to our bill. We only spent a little time in the kitchen and left it very clean. Staff said guests were expected to eat at the restaurant and that use of the shared kitchen wasn't wanted. It's a shame the other prices and information are posted in the common areas but there's nothing there about the kitchen. The fridge is available. The whole policy felt strange and unclear.

The horse-drawn carriage ride around the village on Muhu Island was a treat. At a forest crossroads where seven roads meet, there was a special ritual to do if you wanted to win the favor of the "Father of the Forest". 😉
