Mändjala Forest House

The house is tucked away in the forest, so it feels private and is nicely located. We enjoyed the sauna steam, the outdoor barrel, and the air conditioning during the summer heat. There were board games too. Sadly, the grounds weren't looked after: the lawn was uncut and grass had taken over the pond. We found beer caps on the terrace, and the outdoor fridge was so black we couldn't put drinks in it. Inside was dirty as well. A tray on top of the kitchen cupboard held rotten oranges, the drawers and stove were black, and the floors were so dirty our children's white socks turned black right away. There was thick dust on the sofa and bed bases and backs. The oven tray was black and unwashed, not something we'd want to put food on. We couldn't find cleaning supplies, and when we called the owner, they said they don't usually leave any for a two-day stay. The tap water isn't drinkable either, but this wasn't mentioned when booking. At €425 for two nights, we'd expect a clean, well-kept house. We left sad and very disappointed.
