Konse Motel

Being inside the city seemed to be the only real advantage. It felt like an old fishing boat club turned into a caravan parking lot, and there was barely room to pitch a tent. The little dirt-and-grass patch had less than 10 cm of soil, so getting tent pegs in was almost impossible. In August, I paid what I thought was an unbelievable 17 euros for it. The nearby street was noisy at night, and the place had given us the wrong impression from what we'd seen online. I'd choose a free, quiet, clean campsite in nature instead.

The showers and toilets were fantastic, and the place was clean and friendly. Half the site has lovely grassy pitches; the other half looks like an old industrial parking lot with the buildings removed. The bar and cafe are clean, but the menu is very limited and the kitchen shuts at 10 pm. We had three hungry kids and were turned away at 10:01 pm. It cost €30 a night for two adults and three children.

Known among Estonian caravan circles, Konse Caravan parking offers basic services and a bar. There are a few grassy pitches, but most are gravel or paved. It also has some motel rooms, though I didn't see them.

A comfortable, clean room and a very good breakfast made this a good place to stay in Pärnu when travelling by car or van. It may get a little hot in summer.
