It’s hard to find an apartment this old and original unless you know someone with a 600-year-old castle. This one sits in a safe, secure courtyard in the heart of Old City Tallinn, close to shops, restaurants, a small grocery/convenience store, museums, and churches. Once you get used to the simple street layout, getting around feels like being local. The owners mention the stairs, but they’re worth repeating: the loft stairs are steep, and the stone steps down to the bathroom/shower are even steeper and winding. I bumped my head on the stone arch because I didn’t duck enough. If stairs are difficult for you or you have small children, one of their other nice apartments may suit you better. Still, the stairs and all are part of the history and atmosphere of the place.
