Majaka Hostel

Filthy and falling apart, this run-down hostel feels like a flophouse. It doesn't seem meant for tourists at all.

The staff never came to welcome us, and the kitchen nearly made me throw up. There was a foot odor all through the place, the floor felt sticky, and the windows were broken. I know we didn't pay much, but this barely deserves to be called a hostel. It's one of the worst places I've ever stayed, and I'd only send my worst enemy here.

Communication with the host was frustrating, and I found the atmosphere unwelcoming, with little organization, warmth, or basic support for travelers. As a solo traveler, I found Majaka Hostel poorly managed and disappointing. It didn't feel suited to travelers, and the operation seemed to lack experience in hospitality or tourism. I wouldn't recommend it if you want a smooth, safe, or social stay. Tallinn has better choices, so I'd skip this one.

For a cheap and safe one-night stay, this simple room did the job. There were beds and towels, plus a shared kitchen and bathroom. We called the reception admin, and a kind woman came to show us the room. Don't expect everything to be perfect for 20€/night, but it's good for the price and fuss-free.
