Families will find it welcoming and comfortable. Just keep in mind the dress code is much more conservative than at other seaside spots, especially for rentals, and feels more local. National holidays aren't a good time to go, but I think you'll love it the rest of the time.

It’s a quiet, small resort that works well for a family break, and getting there from Cairo is easy, about an hour and a half. The weather is lovely in both summer and winter, and the open sea makes for a relaxing stay, though fishing isn’t great. The sand is rocky, so bring beach shoes. There aren’t many facilities outside the resort, but there’s a basic pharmacy, supermarket, and restaurant. Electricity runs on rechargeable cards rather than a postpaid counter, so keep a backup handy.

Dolphin beach gets its name from how often dolphins pass by, usually near the shore and people. The reef is fascinating, and the fish are friendly. It’s a relaxed, welcoming place with tidy, good-looking facilities and friendly, well-trained staff, though some improvements could still be made. I keep coming back, and really love the warm, quiet atmosphere. You can enjoy the sunrise or sunset with your pet on the marina, which is handy for fishing or jumping into the water, or bring a book or laptop to read or watch movies at night. It’s warm most of the time. The fees seem quite cheap for what the place offers, especially considering how expensive things can be. The rooms were filthy and still smelled strongly of smoke. One bug was by the sink and another on the windowsill. We were treated very poorly when we arrived, and most of the staff stayed rude throughout our visit. It was a horrible experience, and I wouldn’t recommend it.
