Tolip Resort El Galala Heights

There was nothing to do at night, so it got very boring. The hotel and rooms are spacious, but the food was average and mostly traditional, and room cleanliness was average too.

Once we finally got into the room, we found that neither it nor the bathroom had been cleaned. My wife even found a pizza box in a drawer. Check-in alone took over an hour. Only 1 of the 3 restaurants was open, and there aren’t other places nearby. I read that the beach is “somewhere between the mountain and the sea,” so we decided not to risk using their transportation. I saw around 10 pools and none looked clean. Never again.

The hotel could be great with better management of what it has, but the overall experience was average. After check-in, our card opened a room that was already occupied. The room we eventually settled into had no hand wash, tissues, or body wash, and calling room service didn’t get those problems fixed. Food options were limited and the quality wasn’t good. The restaurant was overcrowded with nowhere to sit, and it seemed short-staffed. The road to the hotel didn’t feel very safe, and there was no cellular coverage.

Our stay was miserable, with delays and poor management from start to finish. Reception was completely disorganized, and we didn’t get our rooms until 4:30 PM, even though the usual check-in time is between 12 PM and 2 PM. The rooms weren’t clean when we finally got them. They were near the pool, which smelled very unpleasant, and the lake view was disappointing. The staff seemed unfriendly and unhelpful throughout. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
