The people are what made Baba Dool feel special. Hagga Rawiya and her family were so welcoming, generous, and warm that I felt at home straight away. The place has a simple, authentic feel. It’s right on the Nile, with panoramic river views and nature all around. Everything was peaceful, with fresh air and no noise. My room was clean and comfortable, the food options were great, and the Nile view made it hard to leave. Staying here was one of the highlights of my Aswan trip. If you want a Nubian experience away from the tourist bustle, this is the place. 100% recommend! 🙏

We were on the west side of elephantine island, right by the river, and it was wonderfully quiet. Across the water you can see botanical gardens island (Kitchener island), with sand dune hills beyond, and there’s amazing bird life. Getting up early to sit and watch the river, birds, and wide natural views was a highlight. The rooms are excellent value, and the service was very good. We were met on arrival and they arranged all our trips, all with warm Nubian hospitality. Highly recommend.

Ahmed was great, and the accommodation staff were always ready to help. The terrace is probably the quietest on the island, with what may be the best view of the Nile. It’s just magical, and the best place to stay on Elephanine island.

The views from all three terraces are incredible, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. It’s good value, too. One of the best hotels in the area. Make sure to meet Rawia, you’ll have a really nice conversation about Nubian culture.
