Hilton Alexandria King's Ranch

I was there in 2022 for a close friend's wedding, expecting a fun weekend by the pool. We arrived at 3 PM, as arranged, but the rooms weren't ready. We waited another hour, then got changed and headed to the pool. I ordered a margarita and the waiter brought me a pizza. We laughed it off and carried on with beers and house wine, which seemed to be the only options since cocktails and proper liquor were nowhere to be found. Then the stomach trouble hit. I spent the night sprinting to the toilet, and by morning I felt like I'd left part of my soul in there. I had lost so much weight that my suit didn't fit, and I had to punch extra holes in my belt to keep my trousers up. The wedding was beautiful, but I only made it through the first part before the same ordeal started again. At checkout, they tried to charge us more than the rate we'd agreed on. That led to a long argument with some of the rudest hospitality staff I've met. Even now, my stomach hasn't fully recovered, and I've developed several intolerances. I hadn't eaten or drunk anything before arriving, and every friend in our group had the same symptoms. Coincidence seems unlikely. I wouldn't go back unless I wanted endurance training.

The grounds have wide green areas, and the bakery and pastries were excellent. I asked to meet the chef so I could thank him. The room was satisfactory, including the size of the personal safe. The room was missing a lot: no bathrobes, soft slippers, sewing kit, laundry bag, or toothpaste. Our room was a very long walk from the lobby, with no obvious shortcut. The bathroom tap barely gave any water because the pressure was so poor, though the shower worked very well. The savory food was average and lacked variety during our stay. Check-in was delayed until about 6 pm for one of our rooms, and the reception team seemed unprofessional. The worst part came on our last morning, when loud demolition noise from the hotel's spa started at 8 am, nearly shaking the bed, and continued until checkout at noon. When I reported it, the receptionist coldly said it was coming from the spa. I asked for a senior manager. She told a colleague, who was helping another guest, to ask us to wait five minutes. We were ignored for around 15 minutes, so we took our bags and left. That was a deal breaker for me.

I especially appreciated Habiba's support during my stay. She went above and beyond. My thanks as well to Jehad at reception and Habiba Murad and Maha for their warm welcome. Mahmoud, the Reception Manager, was professional, and Howaida from the Executive Lounge was excellent. The team made this an amazing, memorable visit. I highly recommend the hotel.

Even with the hotel fully booked and guests all across the property, the team stayed composed, attentive, and professional, always with a genuine smile. Marwan from the Front Desk made arrival and check-in smooth and pleasant. At Teatro Restaurant, the breakfast staff were helpful and welcoming. I accidentally left my phone there one morning, and they promptly reported it to Lost & Found and got it safely back to me later that day. The handoff between shifts was impressive. Menna, Rahman, and Ramy also remembered from my earlier visits that I like their tangerine juice and brought it over without me asking. The Executive Lounge had a cozy, elegant atmosphere, excellent food, and impeccable service. Thanks to Howaida Gamal and Nasr Taha for being so warm and professional. The hotel is relaxing and comfortable, but its people are what make the experience special. They're well trained, courteous, and genuinely caring.
