Australian Deluxe Hostel

For a solo traveler, it's a lovely place to stay, right in the heart of downtown Old Cairo. My room was spacious and cozy, the bathrooms were good, and there was hot water. Housekeeping was steady and the room was well looked after. It was spacious and clean, with modern, comfortable amenities, from the bed and bathroom to the view. I stayed several days and felt comfortable throughout. Check-in at reception was quick and professional, and the staff were friendly and always willing to help. My experience at the hotel was excellent 👌

The rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and the WiFi decent. There was hot water all day, and breakfast was decent too. It was my first time booking this place through Booking.com, and it seemed like a nice option. It's right in downtown, so getting to the important sights is easy, with plenty of food places and shops around. The property is on the third and fifth floors of a very old building, and the elevator is outdated, but that's normal for downtown Cairo. I plan to stay here throughout my time in Cairo on this Egypt trip.

By the time I finally found somewhere to stay, I was exhausted and unhappy with the place. The person from Australian hostel then told me it cost more and I’d have to pay the difference, and that breakfast wasn’t included. I refused both. The whole mess came from their poor management. I’d booked two nights through Hostel world and paid before heading out to look around Cairo. Since check-in was in the afternoon, I left my backpack there and said I’d return later. When I got back around 7 pm, the receptionist told me they were overbooked and had no bed for me, even though I’d already paid. He said he’d find another hostel, then walked me with my huge luggage to a smelly place where I couldn’t stay. The next hostel had no space either. We tried another one, which I wasn’t happy with, but I was too tired to keep walking.
