The beds and bedding were comfortable, and the staff were friendly, professional, and attentive. I liked the convenient location near tourist spots, shops, and restaurants, plus the safe setting and CCTV. Cleanliness could be better, though, and the Wi-Fi was often unavailable, so they need to keep the connection working more reliably. I enjoyed my stay, and this has become my favorite hotel in Cairo.

The staff were great and very helpful, and the downtown location is hard to beat. For about $22 (450 EP), you get a double room with a private toilet and shower, plus breakfast. The room was okay, though small and a bit cramped, which wasn't a big deal if you're only staying overnight. The bathroom was clean, the AC worked well, and the free WiFi was strong. One thing to watch: on booking it's listed as Cairo city, but the actual name to look for is Cairo hotlel. It was a good deal for the money, especially with Cairo hotels getting overpriced. A good choice for a business trip or just a night.

The people were nice, but communicating was really hard because they don't understand English. Uber isn't allowed to go into the airport, and with the nameplate in Arabic, it was hard to find the right car.
