Egyptian Night Hostel

The hotel has clearly been renovated recently, and the mattresses, pillows and bathroom were all top quality. It’s right in Downtown, near lots of places, especially the Egyptian Museum, and the balcony view is amazing. You could sit there for hours without getting bored. A couple of details to keep in mind: it’s on a main street, so car horns could be a problem if you need a quiet place to sleep. Parking is in a separate building, with Abdel Moneim Riad Garage about a 5-minute walk away. The stay was lovely overall, and I definitely recommend it.

Scammers alert! Don’t book this hostel or let them arrange your dinner cruise. I had already paid 850 Egyptian currency for 2 persons while we were on the dinner cruise. Then, when my colleagues were checking out, they tried to charge her 60USD per person, far more than the price we agreed on. They took advantage of my colleagues being alone. It didn’t feel safe for a female traveler!

The staff were polite and professional, and the rooms very clean. The air conditioning, fridge and everything else worked perfectly. There’s a nice view from the balcony. The location is perfect, right beside the Museum, and the nile river is also nearby on foot.

SCAM ALERT!!!!!! They said they were overbooked and wouldn’t let us in, but they never cancelled our reservation. They offered no alternative and even lied, saying they had processed the cancellation. I’m still waiting for my money and pretty sure they won’t give it back. I’m still fighting with booking to try to get a refund. It’s an awful first impression of Egypt on the first night of your trip, right when you arrive.
