New Garden Palace Hotel

My reservation was canceled without warning. When I got there, the place looked in terrible shape, so I guess I didn't miss much.

The service and location were excellent, and the food tasted great. The rooms were really comfortable too. ❤️❤️❤️💯

The entrance and hallway looked like a dump, and the whole place felt grim, gloomy, and smelly. We hadn't planned to stay there, we only went in after getting lost. It was about 2:00 am, and we asked the very large hotel keeper at the counter if we could use the wifi. He didn't speak English, so he handed us his phone to talk with his friend. We explained that we already had a reservation somewhere else, but he still tried about a dozen times to sell us a room. In the end, he wouldn't share the wifi, even if we paid. I understand he could refuse lost tourists access to his wifi, and it wasn't his problem. This is still my honest impression, even though we never stayed there, and I'd avoid the place. After reading the reviews just now, I also find the positive comments hard to believe. They don't make sense to me.

The room and bathroom were dirty, and there wasn't a towel, so I couldn't shower since I didn't bring one. I needed to charge my phone overnight so its alarm would wake me for something important, but none of the plugs in the room worked. At midnight I went downstairs, and the staff just said, “This is what we've got.” Their suggestion was to leave the phone charging in the lobby and come back for it an hour later. The staff were very unhelpful. It was a bad experience, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
