Royal Marshal Hotel

Our stay at Royal Marshal Hotel was a pleasure. Everything felt just right, from the clean, comfortable rooms to the friendly staff. Thanks to the management and team for the excellent service. We’d happily recommend it.

The room cost £60 a night, and with the hotel’s rating, the way we were treated at checkout was unacceptable. I handed in the key and waited while the receptionist looked at his computer without saying anything or looking up. The room had already been paid for, so I couldn’t understand the delay. After a few minutes, the woman beside him told me, “you can go,” in a very dismissive tone. Nobody said hello or goodbye, or asked how the stay had been. We chose the hotel for the rooftop pool and the views. The views were decent, but taking pictures wasn’t allowed because of the nearby military area. The pool wasn’t operating, apparently because it was winter, even though it was 30 degrees in October. Other hotels had opened their pools, so I don’t think the season was really the issue. The TV had sound but no picture. Check-in, at least, was impressively smooth. I still wouldn’t recommend staying here.

I phoned a week ahead to book a single room. They took my name, said I didn’t need to transfer any money, and confirmed the reservation. But when I arrived, they told me every room was booked and there was no reservation under my name.

The receptionist is rude, and the service and treatment were awful. The place isn’t clean, the food is bad, and Wi-Fi is unavailable most of the time. Worst hotel 👎🏻
