The G Hotel Seashell

Even with the unexpected heavy rain, we still enjoyed the venue and its long sandy beach. There’s also a very large lagoon, with free canoes for anyone to try, and the rooms were modern and very nice. Dining was good too. The buffet could be a letdown at times, since portions sometimes weren’t enough and some plates weren’t refilled. On the other hand, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, though the bedding and furniture had an unpleasant smell. Still, it’s a good place to visit again, and I’d recommend it to others.

Room service was slow to respond and unprofessional, and the reservation team seemed unaware of what was going on at the hotel. It felt as though collecting payment mattered more than making sure guests had a good stay. We also found out that we couldn't use the beach facilities at Seashell, something nobody had told us beforehand. At this price, I expected much better service and more honesty and transparency. The biggest problem was a wedding over the weekend. The music carried on until 2 AM, and the rooms aren't soundproof. My child couldn't sleep, which made what was supposed to be a peaceful family break incredibly frustrating. I called reception several times during the night and kept hearing that the music would stop “in 10 minutes,” but that seemed like a guess to placate us. We hadn't been told about the wedding when booking. Guests, especially families with children, should be informed about an event like that in advance. This was a very disappointing stay, nothing like the relaxing getaway we wanted. I wouldn't recommend the property to families or anyone seeking a quiet break.

Our room was right on the lagoon, clean and comfortable, and the beach was nice and clean too. We were treated politely throughout, and the staff were especially helpful, particularly housekeeping. There were plenty of choices at breakfast and dinner, and both meals were delicious.

The staff made the biggest impression on me. Every person we met was attentive and accommodating, right from the top down to the gardener. The G Hotel Seashell was even nicer than I’d expected, including better than the pictures online. I’d go back and would recommend it.
