Capital Of Pyramids Hotel

The view of the pyramids is genuinely impressive and worth seeing at least once, and that's the one reason we chose this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised to be allowed to pick our room, which helped us find one that suited us. We appreciated it, whether that's normal practice or just luck. The rest was disappointing. The hotel looks run-down, cleanliness was average at best, and the breakfast was limited and below what you'd hope for. At around €50 per night, we weren't expecting luxury, but a bit more effort would have helped. If you want an affordable base where you can wake up to a pyramid view, it does the job. Just don't expect much else.

The rooftop gives you a panoramic view, and you can also spot the pyramids from the balcony. I found a room after walking in, with Mustafa's help, at a reasonable price. I enjoyed all three nights: the room was nice and quiet after dark, and breakfast was good. The Wi-Fi was slow at times, though, and could be better. :)

The views and the storage room were the only good parts for us. We booked a room with a jacuzzi for our anniversary, but it was dirty and had sand in it. The windows facing the pyramids were dirty too, with paint marks. Wi-Fi was practically nonexistent, and everything seemed to run late. On the tour day, breakfast arrived half an hour late, then they called our room twice within five minutes to hurry us along. We trusted the owner's prices without checking elsewhere, and ended up paying much more than a private tour would have cost through an online app. The guide rushed us around and shared very little information. We felt the people there weren't honest. We'd been travelling through several countries for weeks, and this was by far our worst experience.

For what it costs, it's hard to complain. Muhammad and Mustafa were great with us and always kept an eye out to help. The location is what makes this hotel special, so I'd definitely choose a room with a view. We'd come back 😊
