Grand Pyramids Motel

The location works perfectly for the Pyramids and the GEM. For other places like Islamic Cairo, The Church Cave and the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art, we'd suggest staying closer to the center for a few nights, as we did. For what we paid, this was a good stay. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast is on the rooftop, with a view of the pyramids. The Egyptian breakfast was very good, while the continental breakfast and omelette were mediocre. Mango juice and coffee were tasty and very good.

The restaurant staff went above and beyond, and the rest of the team were lovely and accommodating with our luggage and check-in. They also arranged a tour for us. The rooms were modern and stylish, beyond what I expected. With incredible pyramid views and a convenient location in a good neighborhood, it was a wonderful experience for a budget hotel. Highly recommend.

We booked a terrace room with a balcony and pyramid view in Giza, but were given a standard first-floor room instead. They promised to move us the next day. The following day, they left our luggage outside and said we'd need to go to another hotel because our room had been sold to someone else. It looked to us like they oversell the few pyramid-view rooms, with only some guests getting what they booked and others being moved. We refused the alternative and left to find our own accommodation. The staff lied to us repeatedly and pushed overpriced tours at nearly twice the usual price. The elevator doesn't have a proper door, and the rooms felt insecure, as if they could be accessed easily from outside. The place seemed unprofessional and unsafe, and our experience was dishonest. I'd stay at a reputable hotel in Cairo and take a taxi to the pyramids instead. Avoid this hotel. I highly doubt the existing reviews are real. Check all the one-star reviews.

There's a fantastic rooftop restaurant with impressive views, and breakfast was delicious with very generous portions. A bank and ATM are right next door. You can walk to a few shops and restaurants, but you'll need an Uber for most other places. The hotel is just off an arterial road exit, so expect some traffic noise. The room was clean enough, and while the facilities felt a bit dated, everything worked.
