Le Méridien Pyramids Hotel & Spa

The location was the best part: an easy walk to the pyramids, and our suite had a lovely pyramid view. The pool area also had a great view. But our room felt dated and rather grubby, with old, dingy furniture, an uncomfortable spring mattress, and a toilet that wouldn’t flush toilet paper properly. Breakfast was chaotic. Servers rushed around, yet it took 20 minutes for me to get someone’s attention so I could ask for clean silverware and coffee. The food was average. The hotel is huge, and the staff didn’t seem equipped to provide high quality service at that scale. We were there for two nights on our honeymoon in Cairo, and the location alone made it worthwhile, but the rooms and service didn’t feel luxurious.

Our room was clean, spacious, comfortable, and had all the expected amenities. The staff kindly upgraded us when we arrived, and the pool was amazing, with a view you can’t beat. The pool staff were helpful and kind, and the buffet dinner was better than we expected. The location and view are excellent. The weak internet was really frustrating, though, and the friendly front desk staff couldn’t give us the information we needed.

Meridian Hotel is one of the most beautiful and wonderful hotels. I recommend the Meridian International Hotel Group to people around the world, from Europe and Arab countries alike.

The main reason to stay here is the location. The pyramids are within walking distance, though you have to cross a busy street without a crosswalk. The hotel feels secure, and check-in staff were kind and helpful, but our suite didn’t feel especially nice. The room was dated, the bed wasn’t very comfortable, and both the shower and toilet need upgrades. The shower temperature kept changing, and the toilet struggled to flush toilet paper. The pyramid view was great, and the pool and other amenities were nice. Brunch was a mess. The staff seemed overwhelmed and weren’t very helpful or kind. It was so busy at the buffet that there weren’t any plates to find, and the food lines were long. Having just one breakfast restaurant in a hotel this large wasn’t acceptable. It’s a decent place for the location, but it isn’t luxurious.
