The rooftop was the place to be at night, with a spectacular view. From our clean room we could also see a little of the pyramids from the balcony. We had a fantastic stay, and our driver was superb, though I can’t remember his name. Our guide, Muhammad El Khawaga, was fabulous and knew so much. He has a master degree in Archaeology and Egyptology, which really came through in his explanations during the tours. He took us to amazing places, including the Mosque in Cairo, Egyptian museum, the pyramids, a carpet school, a paper print shop, and a spice shop. We also went on the Nike dinner river cruise. We’ll definitely return.

I felt very safe traveling alone as a woman, and the team made me feel welcome from the start. Mahmoud and his staff were on the ball. One young staff member was especially kind, helpful, and professional, and made sure things got done. I wish I remembered his name. The room was one of the best parts of my birthday trip. It was modern, well maintained, and seemed recently renovated. The pyramid views were the best, including from the bathroom, where the pyramid sat on the horizon. It’s great value, and I’d book here again if I return to Giza. Thanks to the whole team!

The rooftop terrace has lovely pyramid views, and you can walk to the sphinx entrance. Breakfast was very good, and most staff were helpful, especially at reception and breakfast. But our room looked nothing like the pictures: it was dark, dingy, and dirty, with a view of a ragged tree and wasteland. There were no cups, the walls had tea stains, and cleaning and toilet paper were only available on request. The safe was broken and never repaired despite several requests. At night it was extremely noisy, with barking dogs, shouting, drumming, and traffic. Construction seemed to be ongoing, with bare wires hanging from the ceiling and shabby, unfinished communal spaces. We were half board, but the dinner choices were very limited and it wasn’t clear what we could order. We were also hassled for tips every night.

The views kept changing with the light, from sunshine to sunset and even a sandstorm. I could have watched the pyramids forever. The accommodation was very comfortable, and breakfast was generous. Lessie, the friendly cat who lives there, was a lovely presence too. I went with a girlfriend, and the hotel staff arranged everything for us: airport transfers, Memphis, Saqqara, a camel ride, and a Pyramids and Sphinx trip on the first day, then Cairo Museum, Cairo old town, Saladin Citadel, and a River Nile cruise on the second. They found us Sherif, an amazing, knowledgeable guide who spoke fluent English, plus the driver and another sweet guy who came along on the Nile Boat. The boys working there did everything they could to make us comfortable. 100% recommended.

The staff are welcoming and will do what they can to meet your needs. The hotel is right in front of the Giza Pyramids, and other landmarks can be reached from there. On the sixth floor, you can enjoy Egyptian food with the pyramids in view.
