Cleopatra Luxury Resort Makadi Bay

I’ve stayed here before, but this family trip in May 2026 will be my last. The room, service, and entertainment were all good until checkout. I had requested and paid for late checkout until 6:00 P.M., and it was confirmed. At 5:50, while I was packing, a housekeeper came and asked me to leave so the room could be cleaned. I said I was getting ready to go, but a minute later another staff member came with the same request. It felt impolite and very unprofessional, especially since I had paid for the extra time and expected privacy until checkout. I raised the issue in the lobby while finalizing checkout with Mr. Hossam Ismael, the reception manager. His response was rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional toward me as a returning guest, and I don’t think a first-time guest should be treated that way either. I hope management looks into this so no one else has the same experience, and gives Mr. Hossam Ismael better training in handling situations like this. Many thanks to Mr. Mostafa in the Reservation department, Mr. Mostafa, the deputy GM, and the main restaurant manager. Unfortunately, I’d advise future guests to avoid dealing with Mr. Hossam Ismael if they want a good stay. A returning guest won’t come again.

The atmosphere was so warm, friendly, and supportive, and the administration paid attention to every detail. The staff were super friendly and made me love Egyptian people. One of the best places I’ve ever been! In love with Egypt 🤍🙏 thanks!

The food was okay, but nothing special. Staff were friendly, and some were funny and nice. It’s a good spot if you just want to relax, though be ready to get interrupted while napping by the pool as people pressure you to book spa services and trips. If you agree, they’ll ask for full payment. There wasn’t much to do, no entertainment, and nothing outside the resort. It felt far from luxury. Would I go back? Perhaps not.

The hotel was beautiful, and both the food and rooms were lovely. It felt very calm, but we were approached by 13 different staff members in one day, each trying to sell us a paid excursion, restaurant, or spa service. They just wouldn’t leave us alone, and that’s the only reason I took off a star.
