Emerald Aqua Park City

The beach was a highlight, with clean sand and well planned activities like volleyball and zumba. The bar had lovely refreshing drinks, and I really enjoyed the popcorn, baked doughnuts, and ice cream. The lady serving them was kind. Our room was very clean when we arrived, and the food and staff were very good too. I really enjoyed my stay at White Valley and would definitely recommend at least two weeks there. The constant stress and poor conditions ruined what was meant to be a family holiday. We travel to Egypt every year and have usually had positive stays at reputable places such as Titanic, Hawai, and Pickalbatros, so this experience was completely different. We booked five rooms: I booked three through Stayforlong, and my brother booked two directly by email after they stopped showing as available on Stayforlong. The listing showed pictures of a neighbouring hotel, including its aqua park, which gave the impression of a different standard. The hotel we arrived at was down a long, isolated road behind a security gate. Taxis couldn’t come in, so we had to walk 10-15 minutes to the main road for transport. The hotel taxi cost eight times the normal fare, leaving us with no reasonable alternative. After checking into the first room, we tried to check in my aunt and uncle, who had travelled from Iraq. Staff said they had to pay extra solely because they were Iraqi nationals, and pressured us, saying the room wouldn’t be released without payment. We were overcharged by about $400. Staff were rude, unprofessional, and showed no customer service. Hygiene and maintenance were extremely poor. The interior was old, dirty, and badly maintained, with cockroaches and mice in hallways and rooms. The floors were so filthy our feet turned black just from walking inside. Sheets and towels weren’t replaced, and staff reused them. Towels were stained, and the hotel tried to charge us $10 for using one to clean up water from a leak. Our room’s air conditioning didn’t work. We reported it several times, but staff came late at night to try repairs, disturbing our rest. A day later, it leaked a lot of water onto the floor, creating a serious slipping risk, especially with young children there. Two days before our flight home, my wife was in severe pain and screaming. The hotel doctor asked a few questions, took her blood pressure, and charged £100. He said she needed hospital care and arranged what he called an ambulance, but it was an ordinary taxi costing £50, when the normal fare was no more than £1.50. The £150 hospital fee may not be related to the hotel, but the way the situation was handled by the hotel felt exploitative and unprofessional.

What stood out most was the beach and sea, plus a decent water park. Still, the hotel felt like something was missing. The food disappointed, and the staff attitude and service were very poor.

The room walls are so thin you can hear everything, and the food wasn’t good. I had stomach pain after eating the meat. Staff were rude and seemed to prefer speaking Russian. The reception staff couldn’t understand basic sentences, and the staff here don’t speak English. I can’t recommend this hotel.
