The hotel was kept clean with regular housekeeping, and towels were changed whenever needed. The beach is a 5-7 minute walk away, and the room fridge could use replacing, but I still felt the stay was worthwhile for the money. It's a decent budget hotel, a good fit for people who won't spend all their time in the room or focus only on lounging with all-inclusive. Staff were kind and helpful from the start, paying attention to details at check-in. They offered early check-in for an extra fee without pressuring us to take it. Mr. Ahmed patiently answered all our questions with a warm smile. We could leave our luggage in a designated room and go for breakfast, coffee, or a walk. A hot water problem was fixed within minutes. Meals were reasonably varied, fresh, and tasty. Once I overslept and got to breakfast late, but they still let me in and I ate without any problem. The standard is decent and, for a budget-friendly place, things were as expected.

The property is very run down, the lifts are in shocking condition, the food isn't very good, and the staff don't seem to care. For what I paid, this was a shocking stay. Management told me I was overreacting about the hotel's quality, so I checked out and moved to the Royal Star. It's the sister hotel, but much better.

The food was awful, and the cake choices were the same cake with different frosting. If you're vegan or just picky, good luck. Getting cutlery was a big problem, and the restaurant plates were dirty and wet, sometimes there weren't any plates at all. Everything smelled like fuel. For a cheap hotel, there are plenty of better options. The whole building felt like an unfunny joke, and the staff were rude. Our room was terrible: there was no light in the bathroom, water kept running from the sink, and we had no towels. The duvet and pillows were dirty. When we told reception about the sink, the receptionist said someone would come, but no one showed up.

The night receptionist, Mohamed, wouldn't answer my question about the restaurant schedule on the night I arrived. He said he'd give me an information sheet, then forgot. The room wasn't ready for arrival. It smelled of paint, was dirty in the corners, and had water constantly pooling on the bathroom floor. There were no towels or shower gel, and the bathroom bin was broken, dirty, and full of rubbish. The whole hotel smelled like an old train, a mix of fresh cheap paint from the doors and wooden furniture being redone, and toilet chemicals. As soon as you enter reception, it feels like the “office of hell.” The main restaurant floor was extremely dirty. The old plates were wet and unclean, and the waiters there were rude. Staff seemed depressed and untrained. All the bad reviews are 100% true, and I confirm each bad word. This dirty hotel really needs a GM to keep things under control. I hope he is still alive, because if anyone were in his place, better to shoot himself with a gun than be part of this craziness called Thriton group Empire aqua park. A real shame OF 2025!!! The restaurant service bothered me most. Clean plates were often left wet, and after people finished eating, staff seemed to clear only the dirty dishes and leave the table as it was, with crumbs and wet glass marks. Before nearly every meal, I had to wipe a table down myself with napkins. The food was okay, but not great. Most of the meat was dry and chewy, other dishes were bland, and there wasn't much variety from day to day or even between meals, so I ended up eating much of the same food. Our room was fairly clean overall, but dated and worn. There were holes in the mattress beneath the sheets, the fridge's plastic had yellowed, and the sink and shower taps had ugly limescale buildup. If you're not too picky, the rooms are fine, just outdated. The hotel has several issues, but I don't think it deserves its 2-star average on Google; perhaps 3.5 stars would fit better. I think the hotel has real potential, but management either doesn't care or doesn't know how to do the job. They should inspect every room and list what needs fixing. Many things would take little or no investment: give cleaners limescale or chrome cleaner so the taps can be made shiny, and tighten loose parts. In our room, the door handle, towel rack, and faucet were all loose, just a matter of tightening screws. Those fixes alone would make the room feel cleaner and better maintained. New fridges would also improve the look and feel, though that would take some investment.
