The spa was a disaster, and the extra services were ridiculously overpriced. That’s why, despite some good points, we can only give Pickalbatros Blue Spa Resort one star. We stayed in the first week of March 2026. At the spa reception, the man was arrogant, rude, and unprofessional, as if he’d forgotten who was serving whom. The sauna wasn’t heated properly, and staff kept opening the door during the session and letting the heat out for no reason. The showers afterwards smelled of mold and looked unhygienic. I wouldn’t step in without flip-flops because of the risk of foot fungus. In my opinion, the whole spa needs to close for renovation and the management needs replacing. A 45-minute massage was priced at 150 euros per person, which is absurd. Nearby Cleopatra Spa was much better value: 22.50 euros per person for three hours, including sauna, a full body scrub, foam bath, and 45-minute massage, with taxi transfers both ways included. Diving was similarly overpriced. Even though I have a diver’s license, they asked 75 euros for a single dive. It seems the hotel assumes guests don’t know local prices. The hotel itself was generally clean, including the rooms, common areas, and narrow beach, and the food was very good with enough choice for everyone. We had no stomach problems during the stay, even when brushing our teeth with tap water. The location was good, near the airport, and Wi-Fi coverage was decent for email and messages, though not streaming. Pool and beach drink service was friendly, and the first pool by reception was pleasantly heated. There isn’t much greenery and there’s a lot of concrete, though that’s down to the design. For long beach walks, I’d choose another resort, or better yet, Marsa Alam, where nature is more open and unspoiled. The weather was okay, around 19-22°C in the daytime and cooler at night; April might be warmer. The hotel has potential, but poor spa management and extreme prices ruin it. I wouldn’t return. Would I recommend it? Maybe, but only for the room and food, without any paid extras.

Our room attendant made the stay extra special, cleaning each day and leaving lovely decorations on the bed on three occasions. The hotel was immaculate, and all the staff were outstanding. The manager was often there to greet guests and check that everything was okay. In the Main Buffet, Alfredo and the waiting staff were fantastic, and Belal deserves a special mention for making our stay even more enjoyable. We had a ground-floor deluxe room right beside the pool. There were always plenty of sunbeds, and the lifeguards went out of their way to help us get one where we wanted. The pool waiter was great too. By our second day he knew what we wanted and brought drinks without us having to ask. The food in the Main Buffet was exceptional, with something different each day. From arriving at Pickalbatros Blu Spa to leaving, everything felt outstanding. The staff were warm and helpful and did everything they could to make sure we were all right.

We stayed at this beautiful, modern adults-only hotel in Hurghada. It was extremely clean and tidy, and our private transfer from the airport took 5-10 minutes. Service was great from beginning to end. The lobby bar staff were so friendly and accommodating; after a few days, they recognized us. The manager and his team also supported us well after we went through an awful ordeal in Cairo. A note from our experience: don’t book your own tours there through Getyourguide, book through the hotel or your travel rep. We enjoyed the New Year’s Eve Gala. The entertainment was great, the tables and area looked lovely, and the fireworks were incredible, something we won’t forget. The pool nearest the hotel was heated, so in December those loungers went first. I also used the indoor pool at night, which was lovely and stayed open until 10pm. The lifeguards helped people find sunloungers even later in the morning, though for a front-row beach spot you need to get there before 7am if possible. We could both find drinks we liked, but the spirits and cocktail range weren’t the best we’ve had. I used the spa too, but the massage cost £80, didn’t last the allocated time, and wasn’t worth it. I wouldn’t pay for it again. Going outside was the low point. We only got as far as the area in front of the hotel, where three different men approached us. We couldn’t browse the shops without being constantly bothered, and it spoiled our time outside the hotel.

The hotel is nice and clean, with modern, well-kept room furniture, and the pool is large and clean. What let the stay down was the staff’s attitude and communication. Management should take a serious look at the whole team. At the lobby bar, I smiled, said “Good morning,” and ordered, but the bartender didn’t greet me or smile back. He doesn’t seem to know how to treat hotel guests. Some waiters tried speaking Russian to us in what sounded more like street slang, which was unnecessary since I speak English fluently. One restaurant manager was overly intrusive and communicated inappropriately. His behavior was very unprofessional and made us uncomfortable. Staff conduct and attitude need proper attention before they deal with guests. When we checked in, we asked to reserve a restaurant table for the next day because we were celebrating a birthday. We were told it was fully booked. Then my husband called reception and suddenly a table was available. The next day the restaurant was nearly empty, which was strange and disappointing. We’d especially like to thank Mr. Samy for being professional and attentive. He was probably one of the few employees who truly made our stay more comfortable.

The animation team kept everyone included, with an international mix of people to chat with. They were lively and friendly, putting on boccia, volleyball, Zumba and even beer pong, and were always happy to answer our questions. The staff across pickalbatros blu spa were so helpful, and we were never left waiting for a drink. The hotel was modern and spotless all day long, with great facilities, from the spa, sauna and gym to the four restaurants. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. Everything felt just right, and thanks to the whole team.
