Prima Life Makadi Hotel - All inclusive

The timing rules made the resort feel restrictive. Beach access ended at 6:00 PM, and around 5:50 staff started clearing people out, even though it still seemed like a perfectly normal time to enjoy the sea. We weren’t allowed to swim. We also tried volleyball and were told to stop, with staff ready to take the ball as though we’d gone past some strict limit. The room wasn’t clean enough, and the minibar had only still water. At the bar, bartenders often disappeared, so we had to wait for them to return. Staff came across as indifferent and arrogant, as if service were a favor. When I asked for chips, the bags were tiny and I was told they were “for guests,” as if I wasn’t one. The animation repeated the same activities every day, with no variety or creativity, and the entertainment overall was very poor. For a five-star resort, the experience at Prima Life Makadi fell far short of expectations. The value for money was poor, and I don’t recommend it.

The minibar was barely stocked, with water only, and no chips or other snacks were replenished after the first day, even though we stayed several days. Room service didn’t meet what I’d expect of a five-star hotel. At the bar, the drinks were fine, but bartenders seemed to expect tips so persistently it felt like begging. It made things awkward and hard to relax. The animation team barely put on engaging activities during our stay. They often stood around looking bored and uninterested, and the hotel felt dull instead of lively. Prima Life Makadi didn’t live up to its five-star rating, and between the low-energy entertainment, uncomfortable bar service and missing room amenities, I wouldn’t recommend it.

The baby beds were very old-fashioned and fragile, so we had our one-year-old sleep in our bed instead. The pool towel system was also inconvenient: new towels were generally handed out only when you returned the old ones, so don’t leave yours behind. A good time to exchange them would be when heading out on a trip and not needing them. We visited in February, and the big pool was very cold, though still swimmable. The heated pool was much better for that season. The sea was a little warmer than the pool and fine to swim in, with a small reef just offshore where you could snorkel and see some fish. We had good weather every day, over 20 degrees, and when there was no wind it already felt too hot. The staff were friendly and quick to help, and the restaurant food was good. You could get a drink any time. They also have coins that you can exchange if you want, since they receive tips, but they can’t exchange euro coins. Overall, it’s a very good hotel.

The reef and private beach were the highlight for me. If you enjoy snorkeling and seeing marine life, it's a beautiful spot. We also ate really well, with plenty of choice at breakfast and dinner, and the staff were warm and helpful throughout. Add in the nearby activities and excursions, and Prima Life Makadi feels like a great-value mix of relaxing and doing things. I'd happily recommend it for an affordable, memorable holiday.
