Royal Lagoons Resort & Aqua Park

We stayed for 10 nights in two clean, really good rooms, with comfortable beds. The staff were polite, friendly, and helpful, and I can’t fault the hotel. It was a great experience and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Teddy Bear from the entertainment team deserves a special mention. He was always around, and so friendly and helpful.

The excursions we booked at the hotel after meeting Hossam Yousif from Sun International were handled professionally and with real care. When an unexpected health issue came up, Hossam helped us right away and responsibly. We stayed at the Royal Lagoons Resort in Hurghada from 12-26 December, 2025, and had a wonderful all-inclusive holiday. The rooms were comfortable, the staff friendly, the food good, and the atmosphere relaxed. It was excellent value for money. The Christmas Gala dinner and show were especially impressive and well organized. The hotel played a big part in making our Egypt holiday so enjoyable. The gardens were beautifully kept, the place was spacious, room staff were friendly, and the food had loads of choice. The chefs were friendly too, and I liked the coffee bar Mumtaz. The entertainment wasn’t why I came. I saw it once and felt a bit embarrassed because nobody was watching, although the dancers were trying hard. The room was a bit grim. I’d have given another star, but the night manager shouted across reception that my friend and I had broken the toilet. I ignored him at first because I didn’t think he was shouting at us. He called out again, and to our horror and embarrassment, accused us of smashing a window too. We’d never touched it. Our group was waiting to go on a Nile cruise, but we had to leave them and inspect the “damage.” There was a tiny crack in the window that we hadn’t noticed because we didn’t open the bathroom window. He was unfriendly and unprofessional, a poor representative of the hotel. Others in our group witnessed it and were disgusted. When we returned after the cruise, some locks were falling off, so we made sure staff knew, in case we were wrongly blamed again. It tainted the holiday. Thanks to Karim, the lovely woman at reception, and the other reception staff for helping us. They said the man must have been the night manager. This happened very early on the morning of 10 Jan. There were a few room issues, and the air conditioning didn’t work, but overall it wasn’t a bad stay.

The beach setup really needs attention: there are no straw umbrellas, and the sun loungers are old and dirty. Drinks come in disposable plastic cups, and all-inclusive covers only cheap-tasting alcohol and beer. For anything else, you have to pay. The Italian restaurant's pizza was inedible, and every party costs extra. This doesn't feel all-inclusive. It's a very low-budget hotel, and the cleanliness is poor.
