Steigenberger Makadi - Adults Friendly 16 Years Plus

Another great holiday at Steigenberger Makadi, thanks to everyone at the pool, pool bar, restaurant, and Bogey Bar. Osman at the pool bar worked nonstop from opening to closing. I'd be sitting at my sunbed and he'd suddenly appear with my coffee. He's wonderful. Yahia, Amer, and Reda looked after us in the restaurant, and they're great guys. Reda's infectious smile just makes you feel happy. Yahia at the pool deserves a mention too. We had one small issue at reception, but the reception manager stepped in and sorted it out. Thanks to everyone.

The people are what made this stay at a fantastic golfing resort feel so special. It felt like a home away from home, whether you're a keen golfer or have never held a club. We arrived late at night, and Ahmed warmly welcomed us, arranged some food, and got us connected to WiFi right away. That set the tone. As complete beginners, we played both the Championship and Executive courses. Charlie was outstanding, and his patient, enthusiastic coaching made it unforgettable. At the Nineteenth Bar and Restaurant, Osman, George, and the whole team gave friendly, attentive service and made us feel welcome. Abd El (No.1!) and the main restaurant team served fantastic food every day with equally impressive service. Mohammed (“Tyson”) at the Bogie Bar was always welcoming and great fun. Thanks as well to everyone behind the scenes, who helped everything run smoothly. The beautiful location and relaxed atmosphere made the resort amazing overall. Other guests told us they return again and again, and now we understand why. It's one of the best hotels I've stayed in. We'll definitely be back.

We had a stress-free stay in a room by the pool, and the hotel has plenty to offer even if, like us, you don't golf. The food was amazing, with lots of choices. Staff were kind and attentive, and the personal service made it clear they cared. I'd come back.

I don't usually write reviews, but after two marvellous weeks at Steinberger Makadi, I wanted to share this. At least five members of staff named Ahmed gave exceptional service: two in the restaurant, one in the Eagle bar, and one in the nineteen bar. They were all eclipsed, though, by Ahmed on room service, whose service was second to none. Sami in Eagle bar also deserves a big shout for excellent service and fun. There were no negatives for us, from the facilities and food to the location. Management deserves a lot of credit for bringing it all together. They're visible and transparent, and the staff go the extra mile to give every guest the best possible service. A very big thank you from us.
