Sun & Sea Hotel and Aqua Park - Hurghada

The beach is nice and about 50 meters away across the road, and the pool looks like the photos. The internet is the hotel's biggest problem: it's very poor 2G near reception, and there's no signal in the rooms or by the pool. Room and common-area cleanliness are average, as are the entertainment and the buffet. There's not much food choice, though chicken, rice, and potatoes are available at least every day. The hotel is over 20 years old and could use some small renovations. My personal rating is 6. For beer or spirits, you have to ask or fetch them yourself from the pool bar, where they're served in 0.2 cl plastic cups. Bottled beer and cocktails in glass cost extra. Real coffee isn't available at breakfast or during the day, only Nescafé. 🙈 The staff... if you have an issue with someone, I recommend talking to the manager himself. He's exceptional at listening and trying to sort things out, so you can avoid pointless arguments and problems. 😉

There were quite a few problems. The bathroom ceiling had mold, the sink had rust stains, the shower barely ran and clogged after one use. Floors, mirrors, and windows throughout the hotel were dirty. Staff used a bucket of clean water on the outdoor tiles, but they looked just as dirty afterward. I reported the room defects to reception; they said they'd handle them the next day, but no one came. Both pool ladders were very wobbly. The elevator doors were half open while it went up and down, and it needs replacing. There was no air conditioning at reception. Trash cans were full and rubbish was scattered around. The loungers' upholstery was outdated, and the furniture was very old-fashioned. Wi-Fi was only available at reception, and it was very slow. Hotel salespeople kept pushing trips, massages, and cosmetics and didn't understand “no.” At meals, the placemat and spoons were dirty, cutlery wasn't opposite, there were only plastic cups, and some plates were cracked. Margarine was only available on request, all-inclusive drinks were the cheap ones, and the only milk was made from powder. ❗️All the defects can be seen in the attached pictures❗️ There were good things too: the room had air conditioning and a refrigerator, with two bottles of water a day. Staff were keen to answer questions and carry out requests. The sea view was beautiful, and it wasn't far from the city center. There was a small souvenir shop for snacks, internet cards, and souvenirs to take home. Dinner was delicious and different each time.

The manager was very active and kept an eye on everything at the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean with fantastic views, and the food was delicious with plenty of variety. It's in a very good location with a nice beach.

The lobby was beautiful and they gave us a refreshing welcome drink, though check-in was slow. We had a clean, well-appointed room with lovely views of the sea, pool, and gardens. The staff were always smiling, and we had a wonderful time at this hotel in Hurghada. You will enjoy.
